1917: Azyarets (Ozerets), a khutor in the Buinavichy association (t-va), 4 versts (approx. 4.3 km) from the village of Buinavichy. The head of the household was peasant M. F. Korbut, who bought 177 dessiatinas (approx. 193 hectares) of land from landowner A. Lapushynski. 45 heads of livestock. Sown areas: 30 poods (approx. 491 kg) of winter rye, 3 poods (approx. 49 kg) of barley, 15 poods (approx. 246 kg) of oats, 10 poods (approx. 164 kg) of buckwheat, 5 poods (approx. 82 kg) of millet, 30 poods (approx. 491 kg) of potatoes, 2 poods (approx. 33 kg) of flax.

The settlement was founded by a small lake, from which it got its corresponding name — Azyarets (meaning “small lake” or “by the lake”).
